Then I went into Impossible Mode and found that most weapons are totally worthless there because they're reduced to half damage. That was rough.Īnyway, I used the Evaganlizer Carbine for a while before I got a bunch of upgrades and attachments, at which point I pimped out a Shotgun and wrecked everything there. In Classic Mode, they actually force you to use only those guns. All of the guns from DS1 and 2 can be remade to be perfect copies of their past selves. There is a tip for the Force Gun that turns it into a sonic cannon again. What other fun or particularly lethal combinations have you found? The whole dismemberment thing is completely out the window with these two weapons. The Javelin Gun with exploding alt-fire is great, and I like the combination of flaming shotgun/smg for closer-quarters. What I'm wondering then is what weapon(s) people are rolling with? So far, I've got a tweaked Intimid8r and Search and Destroy. Force Gun was my main weapon thru DS and DS2 (nightmare mode) so I'm particularly sad that it just pushes enemies back now. I preferred the old upgrade system too, but the new one does allow for picking and choosing what to upgrade (rather than just what order). I'm a little disappointed that the plasma cutter and force gun are quite pathetic now, and the line gun not far behind. It also feels a lot more like Isaac is doing his engineer thing in cobbling together different components to make them. It's not too deep or complex requiring untold parts, the combinations are many and the differences are tangible. There's a lot to dislike about DS3, but one thing I do appreciate is the weapon crafting system. |
